This Herbal salve is all natural and handmade by me. It is wonderful for dry, itchy, chapped skin and other types of skin inflammation. It is also helpful on insect bites, eczema, psoriasis, chafing and many other skin ailments and damage.

To Use: Apply salve to affected area 1-2 times daily.

Ingredients: Calendula, Yarrow, Echinacea, Chamomile and Peppermint infused Olive oil, Beeswax, Vitamin E and Peppermint Essential Oil.

Calendula: is an external remedy for practically every manner of skin complaints: rashes, stings, wounds, burns, sunburns, abrasions, swellings, eczema, acne, etc…It is widely used as a skin salve because of its soothing anti-inflammatory and vulnerary (tissue healing) qualities. The antibacterial and immunostimulant properties of the plant make it extremely useful in treating slow-healing cuts and cuts in people who have compromised immune systems. The herb stimulates the production of collagen at wound sites and minimizes scarring.

Yarrow: (Achillea millefolium) is an herb with antibacterial, analgesic and anti-styptic (stops bleeding) vulnerary (heals wounds) properties. It is a long-stemmed member of the sunflower family found in the wild throughout the temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. It can be recognized by its highly segmented leaves and the clusters of daisy-like white or lavender flowers at the top of the stalk. Applied topically, it is helpful with skin itching, rash or other issues. By adding yarrow to my salve, it can help with eczema or dry skin.

Echinacea: Has a well-researched and confirmed reputation for enhancing immune function. There are multiple lab and animal studies suggesting echinacea also relieves pain, reduces inflammation, and has hormonal, antiviral and antioxidant effects. Traditionally used for infections and wounds, Echinacea has become a favorite herb of choice where immune support is required. Over 500 scientific studies have documented the chemistry, pharmacology, and clinical applications of Echinacea. Echinacea has healing, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory and nonspecific, immune-stimulant activity, primarily through the stimulation of fibroblasts (cells involved in tissue repair) and activation of phagocytosis (the process of bacterial scavenging by special white blood cells). Echinacea is applied topically for wounds, abrasions, skin infections, mouth ulcers, eczema, acne and psoriasis

German Chamomile: Is an age-old medicinal herb known in ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome. Its popularity grew throughout the Middle Ages when people turned to it as a remedy for numerous medical complaints including asthma, colic, fevers, inflammations, nausea, nervous complaints, children’s ailments, and skin diseases. Chamomile possess many powerful skin properties such as anti-spasmodic, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-septic, contains essential oils and anti-oxidants. Additionally, it is a hypoallergenic and helps to reduce skin irritants by neutralizing free radicals. Used as a salve chamomile may ease the itching of eczema and other rashes, reduces skin inflammation, soothe minor burns and sunburn. It may also speed healing, prevent and help kill bacterial infections. The beneficial oil of chamomile penetrates deep into the layers of your skin where its potent anti-inflammatory action can restore and soothe irritated skin, burns, bruises and other skin conditions.

Peppermint: Is cooling and soothing. With its high menthol content, peppermint oils cool down feverish and overheated skin, which is a characteristic of eczema, providing a soothing Anti-Itch relief. It’s antiseptic properties also help disinfect the skin, keeping it free from skin irritating microbes that cause itching. Peppermint oil also has anti-inflammatory effects that help reduce eczema related inflammation and redness and relieves Pain. The analgesic properties of peppermint together with the numbing effects of menthol found in peppermint essential oil help effectively manage the pain brought about by itchy eczema rashes.
